Latest Updates from Our Project:

5e Foundry Module complete, stickers shipping, future plans and remaster
9 months ago – Tue, Jul 25, 2023 at 02:43:17 PM

Hi all -

The Foundry Module for the 5e version of the Bestiary is now live! If your pledge included a 5e PDF you should have also received an email from DriveThruRPG with a copy of the Foundry Module as well. If you haven't received one yet please let me know! Once again thank you to Dagonzo for the PF2e -> 5e conversion and to Mr. Vauxs for creating the Foundry Module.

If you or a friend would like another copy of the Foundry Module, it is available for purchase here.

With the foundry modules complete, our remaining tasks are to ship stickers and bookmarks to everyone that ordered one (which is most everyone). These will be shipping next week, as I am just waiting for more stamps to arrive. If you need to adjust your shipping address please send me a message and let me know! I will send another reminder email next week through BackerKit before that happens.

Ongoing and upcoming projects

There are a few ongoing projects that you can still partake in, namely the Botanical Bestiary 3D and The Gardener's Guide to Gaming. Our 3D models for the Bestiary are now complete, and the STL files will be releasing shortly on DriveThru. Meanwhile, The GGG is currently available for pre-order on BackerKit.

All 20 leshy models ready to print!
The Porifer and Porifer Leshy for The Gardener's Guide to Gaming (art by Sita Duncan)
Petal-Dancer Archetype (written by Mark Seifter and Linda Zayas-Palmer, art by Marcel Budde)

There are also several future projects in the works as well, but still pretty early in the process. One without a definitive timeline will be a remaster of the Botanical Bestiary to account for any changes Paizo makes during the PF2e remaster that is launching soon. We will be waiting to see what sort of changes are made before we do anything major, but the intention will be to make the remastered Bestiary free for all PF2e backers, so we will send along another update once we know more about that process.

Finally, as probably everyone is aware, Twitter and Reddit have been having some difficulties lately. We will continue to use them, but the best way to keep up with new Inky Cap offerings is to join our Discord or sign up for our Mailing List. Our website remains under construction but will hopefully launch this Fall!

That is all for now. Thank you as always for the support (and patience) with this project. Looking forward to seeing some of you at GenCon!

The Botanical Bestiary Foundry Module is now live!
11 months ago – Thu, May 25, 2023 at 08:10:49 AM

Emails are going out now for anyone who backer the PF2e version of the Bestiary. These are automated emails coming from DriveThru, so be sure to check your spam folder and let me know if you have any issues! While all of the Backers are receiving this module for free, any assistance spreading the word or leaving reviews is greatly appreciated! You can find the product page here.

Shoutout to Mr.Vauxs for creating the Module and the amazing tokens.

Stickers, Bookmarks, and the 5e Foundry module continue to lag, but will hopefully have updates on all three soon! Thank you again for the support (and patience!), I hope it has been as rewarding for you as it has been for me!

Foundry Module complete!
11 months ago – Mon, May 15, 2023 at 08:56:55 AM

Hello all -

Big update today: The Foundry Module for Pathfinder 2e is now complete! We will be rolling this out shortly (ideally a day or two, just need to finish setting up the DriveThru page then get approval to go live), and will send another update when it goes out. To prepare for this, we will be sending everyone a PDF of the Bestiary for your backed edition on DriveThru. This serves two main purposes - first, any errata gets pushed automatically, making maintenance a lot easier for me. Second, having a copy in your DriveThru account will allow bundles and such to work a bit easier for any future purchases. Emails with these copies will be going out tonight, so keep an eye on your inbox and let me know if you run into any issues!

As early backers of this project, the Foundry module is included free as part of your pledge, and will match your chosen edition. The 5e module is in the works and will likely be ready much quicker than the PF2e version was, since the tokens are already complete and Dagonzo has less errors in his writing than I do! The modules will be sent via DriveThru as well, which again helps with pushing any future updates.

Petrified, Pepper, and Ghost Pepper explore a room
Driftwood checks for traps while Coffee and Tumbleweed supervise
Cat-tail, Bonsai, and Rose discuss the odds of a mimic
Lichen and Onion relax after a long day adventuring

As always, thank you again for your support (and patience!) for this project. It has been an amazing experience bringing it all together, and hopefully it has been worthwhile for you as well. If you did not already see the news, The Botanical Bestiary recently reached Electrum on DriveThru, making it one of the best-selling PF2e supplements on the market! Our 5e version is also rapidly closing in on Silver, bringing us to over 1000 copies sold! This incredible support has allowed us to plan for some great things in the future, so again thank you for making it happen.

Onward to Gold!

Foundry and Minis update
about 1 year ago – Fri, Mar 24, 2023 at 06:42:01 AM

Hello all -

Another short update this month. First, our Kickstarter to create 3D models and minis of The Botanical Bestiary goes live on Monday, March 27th! The project is looking really great and the resin printed minis are just as adorable as the original artwork. You can follow the campaign here. Hope you enjoy!

Second, we have updated the Foundry module in DriveThru - it now contains all of the leshy heritages and 33/66 of the stat blocks! Huge shoutout again to MrVauxs for the work on the conversion, it is coming out spectacular. Please note though that the module is still incomplete so there may be issues or tech problems, but just let me know if you run into anything! The instructions for installation are below:

1. Download the zip from your DriveThru library: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/my_library.php

1a. If you do not have the pack already in your library, you can add it through this link: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=94421b7382

2. Unpack the contents of the zip. You should get a folder called botanical-bestiary with module, packs, script, styles folders and a module.json file inside of it.

3. Move the botanical-bestiary folder to your Foundry modules directory.  - On Windows, you can right click your Foundry icon in the task bar and click Browse User Data  - In all cases, the file path should look like FoundryVTT/Data/modules

4. Open Foundry and if it is already open, restart it. Voilà!

That is all for now. Will be back again when the Foundry module is ready for another update!

Foundry VTT and Physical minis!
about 1 year ago – Tue, Feb 28, 2023 at 12:19:22 PM

Hello all -

We have two big updates this month - our first release of Foundry content and a new campaign to make physical minis of the Bestiary! Let's dive in.

Foundry Update

Rolling out Foundry support has been a slower process than anticipated, but hopefully you'll agree it is worth the wait. Our converter, MrVauxs, has been going through the painstaking process of automating the many varied abilities of the leshies to make playing with the module as smooth as possible. In the process we have "broken" Foundry quite a few times - evidently things like a year-long poison from the Gympie-Gympie is not something they had planned for! The good news is that we have been making great progress, even helping to improve Foundry along the way. Now we are finally ready to share a small sample of the Foundry module with backers! You can get the Foundry Sample Pack now through DriveThru, but only be using this link. This file will be update as we complete more leshies and add to the pack, so make sure you have email notifications from DriveThru turned on. Please note that this is still only a sample, only for Pathfinder 2e stat blocks, and we do not have full tech support available at the moment. That being said, MrVauxs was kind enough to write up some instructions on how to install the module:

Voilà!

Minis!

In addition to the digital updates, we are also launching a new project soon to create 3D printed minis of the Bestiary! These models are designed by Random Art Attack, who has been making awesome Pathfinder minis for a while. Check out some of the printed samples below!

From left to right: Avocado, Watermelon, Onion, Dandelion, Manchineel

I am really excited to see this project come to life. I had wanted to include minis in the main campaign, but it wasn't viable. Now we have chance to bring all of these awesome designs to life! Be sure to follow the campaign landing page to be notified when we go live.

As always, thank you for the support, and I look forward to bringing more leshy content in the future!
